That’s not just a tagline. It’s the heart of Print Island, a bold new space created “by the industry, for the industry”. Is it a TV show? A live event? A community? The answer is all of the above and more.
Print Island is a global YouTube TV show and live event series where creative professionals from across the print, signage, and visual communication industries come together to share, inspire, and collaborate. Built by people with decades of hands-on experience, it’s designed to showcase the stories, ideas, and innovations that often go unseen.
The visual communication industry is evolving rapidly, but it can still feel fragmented and closed off. Print Island exists to give voice to people behind the scenes, amplify ideas that push the industry forward, and remove the gatekeeping to focus on real people, real work, and real innovation.
“It’s real simple. It’s people in the industry helping other people in the industry get their ideas across.”
– Timothy Mitchell, Print Island

For 30 years, I imported wine into the UK and sold it to restaurants and hotels. When I introduced personalised labels in 2005, I still thought I was in the drinks business. By 2013, I was running the largest personalised label gift business in the UK and was approached by Coca-Cola to deliver the ShareaCoke campaign across 14 countries in Europe labelling 1.6 million individually personalised bottles in just 3 months.
After speaking at a Dscoop conference, a print magazine reporter asked, “How long have you been in the print industry?” I laughed and said, “I’m in the drinks industry!” Their response: “But you’ve been designing labels, printing them and applying them to bottles since 2005…I think you are in the print industry!”
That moment of realisation sparked Print Island. Many of us are part of this industry in ways we never expected, and those unexpected journeys often lead to the most innovative solutions.
